A MUM has revealed why she’s super proud of her daughter who became a teen mum.
Krystal Maynard took to social media to show her daughter’s motherhood journey and how she has stuck by her through it all.
In one clip, the mum filmed her daughter, who was pregnant at the age of 15, and said: “Tell me you’re pregnant without telling me you’re pregnant.”
The video saw her daughter eating a green apple and added sour candy to the top to satisfy her pregnancy cravings and it went viral with over 49 million views.
Over two years on, her daughter is now the mum to a young boy called Greyson and the family shared an update on how life has been.
Krystal, who is a mum of three, revealed her daughter and her grandson still live at home with her.
“I love when they come and crawl into bed with me when my husband goes to work,” she wrote as she shared a candid video of them all snuggling in bed.
She also revealed that Greyson has now begun talking and walking – a sign of how well supported and loved he and his mum is.
Krystal also noted that her daughter has recently graduated from school all while being a full-time mum.
This breaks my heart,” one wrote in the comments section, but the mum said there was no reason to feel that way as the teen mum was smashing life.
“It shouldn’t! She graduated from high school and was accepted into nursing school!” Krystal replied.
The proud mum and grandma constantly shares her families progress on social media, and continues to support them.
The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @krystalmaynard_official with over 1.3 million views and 25k likes.
People were quick to share their opinions of her teen daughter’s journey and it seemed very divided.
One person wrote: “Lovely to watch a family support a daughter while she raises hers….things happen and look at all the support this young woman is getting!”
Another commented: “I was 18 when I had my son my mum was the same as you and I’m now 32 making 6 figures and supporting her. You’re so amazing for being supportive and setting her up for success!”

The under-18 conception rate has decreased considerably since 2007, reports Nuffield Trust.
Between 2007 and 2021, the under-18 conception rate in England and Wales decreased by 68%, from 42 per 1,000 women to 13 per 1,000 women.
This resulted in 13,131 under-18 conceptions in England and Wales in 2021.
“Let’s not normalise this,” penned a third.
