Eva Evans was a writer, social media personality, influencer, and actress.

According to her website, Evans was born in Manhattan and “raised between the East Village, Brooklyn, and the Caribbean.”

Evans listed Dior, Gucci, Nike, Apple, and even Miley Cyrus as her clients.

She also had selected projects, including music videos, photoshoots, and commercial ads shared online.

She was best known as a member of New York City’s hipster-socialite scene, which she used as inspiration for her work.

At the time of her death, Evans had amassed a significant social media following.

She had nearly 30,000 followers on Instagram and over 300,000 followers on TikTok.

In 2023, Evans directed, produced, wrote, and starred in a five-episode miniseries titled Club Rat.

The comedy series focused on “a self-absorbed influencer” as she “attempts to re-enter the chaotic New York City dating scene after a candid video of her humiliating breakup goes viral,” as described by Amazon Prime Video.

Evans collaborated with fellow creatives Allie Avital, Varya Rootwood, Caroline Hurwitz, Meisa Brown, Noa Fisher, and Marcela Avelina for the project.

What was Eva Evans’ cause of death?

On April 21, 2024, Eva Evans’ sister, Lila Joy, posted a heartfelt tribute to her sister, announcing the news of her untimely death to the online world.

A cause of death was not immediately revealed.

“please share this post so that it reaches everyone it needs to,” she captioned the post, alongside a photo of her sister.

“yesterday my family received news that our sweet, fabulous, creative, caring, hilarious Eva, my beautiful sister, has died.”

“after 24 hours, i still find myself in a constant cycle of denial and acceptance, so i know how unbelievable and hard to process this news will be.”

“we will be holding a celebration of Eva this coming Tuesday, 4/23, in the evening in lower Manhattan.”

“i wish i had Eva here now to refer to because she would have better words and know how to say what i don’t.”

“i am keeping this brief, so we can plan for the next few days, but you’ll be hearing a lot more from me on how much Eva means to me and just how different the world will be be without her.”

Fans, followers, and friends alike were quick to pay their respects on social media.

“The loss is unfathomable, to those of us lucky enough to have known her brilliance and goodness, but also to the world, which is not the place it was meant to be without her,” wrote NYU Stern Professor and New York Times Bestselling Author Suzy Welch.

“Godspeed, Lila, and love,” she added, alongside a broken heart emoji.

“I am so sorry for your loss Lila. I am sending so much love to you and your family,” wrote Lameka Fox, model and founder of skincare line Vernell.

“She was a light like no other. I’m so sorry Lila. Sending all of my love,” commented Arianna, an illustrator known as @butlikemaybe.

Chris Murch, known by his social media alias Nigel Roxbury, posted a video calling Evans’ death “some of the saddest news I’ve ever woken up to.”

He also described Evans as “so creative, so nice, [and a] very genuine person,” before saying that “New York City won’t be the same, ever.”
