AN influencer revealed the horrific injuries she received after being attacked by her ex-stepfather in an attempted murder-suicide.
Eixchel Berroteran, better known as Eixchelb on TikTok, where she has more than 4.3 million followers, shared photos of her bloody hands on Instagram.
Berroteran’s mother also suffered deep bruising on her arms and stomach, including bite marks on her abdomen.
In a long post, translated from Spanish, Berroteran explained that her ex-stepfather, Luis Damas, 64, walked into her Miami apartment on August 21 with a gun saying he was going to kill her.
Berroteran said Damas, who didn’t live with her, attempted to end her life “because ‘I didn’t want him and my mom to be together.'”
Damas had been married to Berroteran’s mother, Francys Damas, for 13 years but the couple separated eight months ago.
Damas knocked on the apartment door; however, according to a police report, his ex-wife had a friend over and told him that she would speak to him later.
After the friend left a few hours later, Damas was seen in the hallways outside.
Damas and his ex argued before he asked where Berroteran was, saying “she was the reason they could not be together.”
Francys Damas said her ex-husband pushed his way into the apartment before pulling out a gun and going after Berroteran, according to the report.
Luis Damas entered a bedroom where Berroteran was and pointed the gun at her, causing the terrified woman to hide under a mattress.
“I just said, ‘How sad, that these are the last minutes of my life,’” Berroteran told NBC affiliate WSCV-TV.
“I felt so bad for my mom; I was saying, ‘God, please.’”
Damas fired a shot at Berroteran as she hid, however, he missed, according to the report.
“He starts to point the gun at me. I throw myself on the floor and start to yell at him to please not do anything,” Berroteran recalled.
She said that seconds later, she heard a gunt shot that was “centimeters away from me.”
Francys Damas said she and her daughter screamed for help but her ex-husband screamed at them to shut up.
“Because if the police get here, this is over,” said Luis Damas. “I came here to die.”

She describes herself as “Tú local fav de TikTok,” or “Your crazy TikTok fav.”
She posts several videos involving her mother, Francys Damas, such as pranks and skits.
Berroteran also posts beauty and fashion videos along with food content.
On August 21, Berroteran and her mother were attacked by her former stepfather, Luis Damas.
The mother and daughter survived the altercation and Damas has since been charged with attempted murder.
Francys came to her daughter’s aid, desperately trying to wrestle her ex, even using a wine bottle to hit him, as he kept throwing insults at Berroteran.
“He grabs her by the hair and throws her against the floor. I’m sitting on top of him, that’s why I have several bite marks on my stomach,” said Francys.
“I ask the authorities that this not go unpunished, that the full extent of the law has to be felt here because we’re talking about it, but there’s many women that have not been able to.”
Francys attempted to get her ex to calm down, which worked for a while. However, he grabbed Berroteran by the hair and kept the gun close to his side, read the report.
Luis Damas allegedly agreed to sit and talk about the incident and demanded that Francys clean up the bloody scene at the apartment.
Authorities say Damas had his ex-wife sweep and mop the floor to get rid of evidence.
Damas eventually left the apartment after his ex told him that she wouldn’t call the police.
The mother and daughter waited a day to call the authorities after visiting the hospital to treat their injuries.
They claim Damas threatened to send hitmen to kill them if they called the police.
“The same way he threatened to kill us and tried to do it… we don’t know if he really knows bad people who could try to hurt us,” said Berroteran.
Damas was arrested and hit with several charges, including attempted murder, aggravated battering with a firearm, burglary, and false imprisonment.
He is being held without bond after making a court appearance on Saturday.
“Today I can tell you that trauma hurts more than physical injuries and that I really don’t know how I will ever overcome this nightmare,” Berroteran wrote on Instagram.
“I ask that you pray a lot for us and that justice is served.”
She vowed that once her injuries are healed, she will become “the voice of all the people who have been victims of abuse, abuse and in this case..almost murdered.”
