FOLLOWING the sudden tragic death of fitness influencer Gino Molina, his sister broke her silence and posted a touching tribute.
Molina, also known as Big Wicked, died on Memorial Day after spending the weekend with his family.
Big Wicked was adored by fans for his inspirational style, tough workouts, and his work and outreach efforts in the Los Angeles, California community where he is from.
“You took a piece of me with you brother, my heart is shattered in a million pieces,” his sister’s post on Facebook read.
“I can’t express what I’m feeling,” she continued.
“I want to close my eyes and wake up and hear you calling me sister.”
“I love you so very much, you were my other half,” she said.
“Until we see each other again, I will forever hold your legacy.”
You were one of a kind! Rest in paradise now brother,” her post concluded.
Molina’s death was officially announced on Tuesday by Strength Cartel, who Molina had a partnership with, in an Instagrampost.
“May Wicked rest in peace, and our deepest condolences go out to his family on behalf of the entire Strength Cartel family,” read the post.
“Our hearts are with you during this difficult time.”
Since the announcement, Molina’s family has made a GoFundMe.
“In the early morning hours of May 27, [Molina] tragically entered into the kingdom of Heaven, leaving those who loved him so dearly,” his GoFundMe reads.
So far, his family has raised over $3,000 in just 16 hours, with a goal of $20,000.
His cause of death is currently unknown, and although GHS Funeral Services reports it was a motorcycle accident, those claims are unconfirmed.
In an emotional final post on his Instagram, posted two days before his death, Molina reflected on his life and past decisions, expressing gratitude for how far he has come in life.
Molina was no stranger to trouble, spending 13 years behind bars, often forced into solitary confinement.
He was last convicted of a crime in 2008 for possession of a firearm by a felon and of gang enhancement, before ultimately turning his life around.
“Sometimes in life, we take things for granted and we don’t realize that sometimes people don’t get a second chance,” the influencer said in his final video.
“Sometimes we don’t even know how fast things can be taken away from us.”
