Nathalie shared a heartfelt message with her husband’s fans, informing them that the beloved YouTuber died in “an unfortunate accident,” but gave no further details.

However, on Tuesday it was revealed that Potter, 40, reportedly died in a car accident on an interstate in Colorado, according to TMZ.

Potter was behind the wheel when his Toyota 4Runner reportedly went off the right shoulder on I-25 near Fort Collins.

His SUV crossed the other side of the interstate before turning over and rolling multiple times, according to the report.

No other vehicles were involved and Potter was the only one in the car.

The crash is still under investigation, but there reportedly seems to be no indications of drug or alcohol use and it doesn’t seem that Potter was speeding at the time of the incident.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to the Colorado State Patrol to confirm these details and is awaiting a response.

WHO WAS BEN POTTER?

Potter was a YouTuber with multiple channels and over three million subscribers, and made a career out of his love for comics.

He was a self-proclaimed comic nerd, and aside from YouTube, hosted shows like The Weekly Pull, and Absolute Comics, two podcasts dedicated to all things comics.

Potter made audio dramas of comics, drawing in fans of all age groups and knowledge levels of comics.

Potter also made explainer videos where he dove into the lore and origins of different comics, universes, and characters, bringing in new fans who otherwise weren’t interested in comics.

“Ben’s videos were the main reason why I got into reading comics,” one fan wrote under his wife’s tribute.

Potter also hosted a plethora of other channels.

He had a vlog named after himself, a gaming channel known as Eligible Monster Gaming, a manga channel called Mangastorian, and a rant channel – Benny Has A Problem.

TRIBUTES POUR IN

After the YouTuber’s wife announced his death on social media, tributes began to pour in from fans around the world.

This includes O’Shea Jackson Jr., who shared his condolences on X despite currently taking a break from social media.

“I am still taking my break from Twitter for personal reasons. But with the news I just got I have to come back say something,” said the actor.

“Rest in Peace to Comicstorian. I’m heartbroken to hear this news,” he continued.

“One of my favorite follows on YouTube, thank you so much for your work man I was a huge fan.”

“Prayers to his loved ones. Long live Ben Potter.”

Comicstorian's wife's statement in full

Ben Potter, better known as Comicstorian, has died after an accident. The YouTuber's wife, Nathalie, took over his social media accounts to share the sad news with his fans.

Nathalie’s post in full:

Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident.

To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for. As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who would listen and make time for his loved ones. He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our rock and he’d reassure his loved ones whenever they needed it.

He was my world and I need time to be with friends and family. I have so many things I need to figure out but firstly, I need to grieve. I ask that you respect my privacy as well as everyone else’s. Right now my priority is preserving everything he’s built and I don’t have any plans beyond that.

His channel was one of his greatest accomplishments, and while we all need our time to mourn him, I know he wouldn’t want it to end like this.

Ben spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies. It was through his love of exciting stories and well written characters that got him started on YouTube.

The team and I want to keep that going. To honor him by continuing to tell great stories by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive.

We supported each other on everything we wanted to do and I’m not about to stop now.

– Nathalie Potter
