A POPULAR streamer has insisted he’s not going anywhere after a number of creators cut ties with him following his Twitch ban.
In June 2020, Dr DisRespect – real name, Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV – was permanently banned from Twitch for reasons unknown.

At the time, Beahm had more than 4.45 million followers on the platform, making him one of its most popular creators.
He moved to YouTube, where he has more than 4.72 million subscribers, however, a former Twitch employee came forward claiming that Beahm’s ban was due to “sexting a minor.”
“He got banned because he got caught sexting a minor in the then-existing Twitch whispers product,” wrote Cody Conners on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Connors didn’t explicitly name Beahm in his tweet, however, many speculated that he was the subject of the post.
“He was trying to meet up with her at TwitchCon. The powers that be could read in plain text. Case closed, gang.”
Beahm’s ban came shortly after Twitch updated its sexual harassment policy, punishing offenders with permanent suspensions.
In a statement, Beahm confirmed that he had messaged a minor using Twitch Whisper in 2017 but said they were “casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more.”
“Nothing illegal happened, no pictures were shared, no crimes were committed, I never even met the individual,” Beahm tweeted.
“I went through a lengthy arbitration regarding a civil dispute with twitch and that case was resolved by a settlement. Let me be clear, it was not a criminal case against me and no criminal charges have ever been brought against me.”
Beahm continued, saying that he should have never entertained conversations with the minor.
“That’s on me as an adult, a husband and a father. It should have never happened.”
He ended his statement, by writing that if people were uncomfortable with his actions, it was fine.
“But I’m not f**king going anywhere. I’m not the same guy that made this mistake all those years ago.
“I’m taking an extended vacation with my family as mentioned on stream and I’m coming back with a heavy weight off my shoulders.”
DROPPED
The statement was met with harsh criticism online, resulting in several popular streamers cutting ties with Beahm.
Kai Cenat, who has more than 11.2 million followers on Twitch, unfollowed Beahm during a live stream.
“Regardless, bro. It doesn’t matter what age you are,” said Cenat.
Who is Dr DisRespect?
He uploaded his first YouTube video as “Dr DisRespect” on January 12, 2010.
His streaming personal is described as ruthless and quick-witted, with ESPN calling him a “WWE character in the competitive gaming world.”
Beahm said he created Dr DisRespect as a character “who plays multiplayer video games, and he’s considered the most dominating gaming specimen.”
As Dr DisRespect, Beahm wears a black mullet wig, sunglasses, a red and black long-sleeved shirt, and a red and black tactical vest.
Beahm turned to streaming full-time in 2015, gaining a following for playing battle royale games, however, he was permanently banned on Twitch in June 2020 for reasons that weren’t revealed until June 2024.
He is married and has a daughter.
“Go take that break bro.”
Beahm was also dropped by Studio Midnight Society, a game studio he co-founded.
“On Friday evening we became aware of an allegation against one of our co-founder’s Guy Beahm aka Dr DisRespect,” the studio said in a statement.
“We assumed his innocence and began speaking with parties involved. And in order to maintain our principles and standards as a studio and individuals, we needed to act.
“For this reason, we are terminating our relationship with Guy Beahm immediately.”
The U.S. Sun has reached out to Dr DisRespect, Kai Cenat, and Twitch for comment.
